The Scrumptious Beginning
Arusuvai Arasu's journey into the world of catering began with Thiru N. Natarajan, a visionary from Kumbakonam, a small town in Tamil Nadu, India. His inspiration came from a unique encounter with the former President of India, V.V. Giri, who affectionately granted him the title "Arusuvai Arasu."
This moment was pivotal, giving Natarajan the confidence to launch his own catering company, which would later become one of the most renowned in South India. His initial catering experience came through working at Geeta Café on Mount Road in Madras (now Chennai) where he organized a marriage ceremony for the former president's daughter, gaining both motivation and encouragement to start his own venture.
Why & How ?
Arusuvai Arasu's success was/is driven by the dedication, creativity, and passion of its founder, Thiru N. Natarajan. When N. Kumar, his first son, joined the business, he introduced North Indian cuisine to a predominantly South Indian catering scene, bringing fresh flavors and innovative techniques. This set the company apart, making it a popular choice for large-scale weddings across Tamil Nadu.
Continuing this momentum, Natarajan's second son, Mr. N. Shridhar, contributed business acumen and strategic vision, expanding the company's reach to destination weddings and international catering. He incorporated global cuisine into the traditional South Indian menu and focused on meticulous planning and presentation to enhance the overall dining experience.
Today, Arusuvai Arasu is led by Natarajan's grandson, Mr. Kamesh, representing the fifth generation in this catering legacy. The company's commitment to quality and continuous evolution has made it one of India's leading caterers, renowned for its unique blend of traditional and contemporary flavors.
